Online education is gaining momentum. Top-tier schools now understand the power and advantages of a distance learning degree and an online bachelor degree. Usually, costs and time are the problems in terms of pursuing a business degree. Undeniably, a business degree costs a lot especially if the provider and the program enjoys good reputations respectively or as one. Furthermore, it is difficult for students to balance a full-time bachelor degree and work. Distance learning degree allows students to solve these two usual problems. Enrolling in a distance learning degree allows the student to complete the program while continue working. It allows the students to earn an online bachelor degree with minimal costs since they will not be incurring the usual costs such as transportation, allowances, and relocation. The most exciting part of distance learning degree is it allows immediate application of learnings.
Penn State is among the institutions that offers a quality business online bachelor degree. The program is well-rounded dealing with everything there is to handle for business. The online bachelor degree emphasizes analysis and application as primary medium of learning. This program allows the students to specialize in a particular business discipline. These disciplines include Accountancy, Entrepreneurship, Financial Services, Health Services, Management and Marketing, and personalized tracks.
It is important for the students to meet the minimum requirements. At least, the students should have meet one of these qualification:
- Earned 29.1 college credits with a 2.0 or higher GPA,
- Earned an associate degree, or
- Completed at least first two years of a four-year bachelor’s degree.
Furthermore, the students should have complied the entrance-to-major requirements.
Students who failed to comply with the ETM requirements may qualify for admission to an associate degree or may commence study in a pre-business status while complying with the ETM requirements. Students are required to submit academic transcripts including high school. The transcripts should include all schools attended, grades earned, and the institution attended. Transfer credits are possible subject to the approval of the department. For international students, it is required to take Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Since this is an online bachelor degree program, the student should comply with the technical requirements.
Once the students complied with all the basic requirements, the students may apply for the World Campus Student Fund. This fund is established in honor of Jane Ireland. These fund is financed by staffs and students who understand the plight of some students in terms of affording educational and matriculation costs. Since that online learning is pegged on the principles of efficiency, scholarship by this fund compliments the nature of online learning. To be eligible, the World Campus Student Fund scholarship recipient should be currently enrolled to any undergraduate degree program (that is the reason the students should comply with the basic requirements). Also, the recipients should have completed a minimum of 24 credits and have earned a cumulative 3.2 GPA (or higher). It is also an important requirement for students to apply for FAFSA.
